I am the Never Mother

I have no baby mine

My hopes and dreams shattered

I have sacrificed

For the babies I never met

For the ones I never conceived

The mere chance of you

Is the only fuel

Keeping me here

The candle is dim

Flickering

Threatened by each gust

Never will I meet MY child
