Rising Up

I am just in disbelief that our numbers keep rising! It was 759 on Monday (9/2) and today (9/4) it was 1,807! We are increasing far over 60% in 48 hours, even more than doubling. We scheduled an ultrasound for 9/17 where we should be able to see the gestational sac, fetal pole, and see flickers of heart activity. We won’t hear a heartbeat until we go to an OBGYN. The fertility nurse said I should call them to get on their schedule. All good signs! It still doesn’t feel real.

With that knowledge, I told Michael that there is no way I can wait two weeks for a photo to surprise our parents. Holding this secret is too difficult after waiting so long to actually have good news to share. We are planning to share the news this weekend instead!

In the meantime, before our next appointment, I’ll continue taking my medications per the doctor. I am doing Lovenox injections to help prevent clotting due to my history. I’m also taking progesterone in oil (PIO) injections as a safety measure. While shots in the belly and bum are not ideal, I’d put a needle in my eyeball if it meant my baby would live. I have some minor bruising on my belly and some pretty green lumps on my butt, but I am more than happy to keep doing them.
